TERRY SHORT

EXECUTIVE


Terry is a business management consultant and executive coach, with a demonstrated ability to incorporate, where appropriate, his exceptional global operational and cross cultural experience into each assignment he engages in.

 

His career spans forty years, and the level of expertise gained throughout this time, has been in a number of very different areas, starting with the Military and ranging from his time in executive management in the Hospitality, Resort and Property arena, through to providing high level strategic advice as a member of a regional crisis management committee.

 

His exposure both as a coach and business advisor has been comprehensive. Whilst in his role as Regional Director of Operations (Asia Pacific) for the Interpacific Group of resorts, a key part of his role was to act as both mentor and coach to executive teams within the group. This included him being involved in the developmental planning and implementation for both senior and mid level executives.

 

Since working as an independent consultant, Terry has utilised his vast experience in senior executive roles, to work closely with executives and business owners, coaching them in both strategic and operational areas. He brings to these appointments, as necessary, his skills in helping those he works with to gain personal and environmental awareness; to identify those critical motivational factors which may be holding them back; and to subsequently help them, very carefully, to begin to create the changes which may be necessary for their ultimate success.

 

Those who work with him find him to be honest, practical and transparent in all his transactions - vital elements of success in any business relationship.

 

Terry is a former Board Member of the Hotel, Motel Accommodation Association of Queensland, and also of Crime Stoppers, in that state.

 

He is a member of the Alumni of the Advanced Management Programme at the esteemed Cornell University at Ithaca, New York, USA, and is also an Affiliate of Cornell’s Hotel Society.

 

He believes that to be successful as a coach or business advisor, greater organisational bottom line and personal satisfaction must eventually be evident. The coach achieves this through dedication to a thoroughness in exploring all avenues for the individual, thus enhancing the possibility of them achieving their full potential.
